Subclass

Types
In our community there are two kinds of subclass systems available, the retail subclass and the DN subclass system.
Retail Sublcass
The retail subclass is the one you can do in official servers.
Obtaining a retail subclass means, you just can change to a new "clean" class temporary.
Dragon-Network Subclass
The major difference from retail subclass system is, all of the skills from 2 classes remains in one character.
Basic Status
of your DN subclassed character depends on which profession you chose as your main class (you can check your current profession by opening the status window ingame.
For example,
- SwS/SpS will have the basic status of an elven mage. Since SpS is currently your main profession.
- SpS/SwS will have the basic status of an elven fighter. Since SwS is currently your main profession
Either way, your character will have the same active and passive skills.
Changing base class
can be done at the NPC "Sir Eric Rodemai" (Aden) at the cost of 1kk adena. Relogging is recommended after changing your base class in order to prevent texture bugs and a mixup of stats.
Past stacking mastery issue
Since a char can have multiple passives through DN subclass system, we had stacking mastery issue such like fighter/buffer got extra p.atk, attack speed and casting speed from buffer's weapon/armor masteries.
For example, fighter/prophet on fighter status with light armor, got +91% casting and +25% attack speed from prophet's light armor mastery and +45% p.atk from prophet's weapon mastery.
To fix this issue, our coder just deleted +45% p.atk effect from mystic's weapon mastery. And separated the casting/attack speed bonuses from mystic's armor mastery to make it affects only on mystic status. Then later, merged each type of armor masteries (heavy, light, robes) into 1 for each kind.
Now mystic chars including DN subclassed have less p.atk. When a DN subclassed char learns 2 same type of armor masteries, better one is applied so that a char has exactly same p.def no matter if its on fighter status or mystic status.
Some ultimate skill's effect like Ultimate Defecse, Ultimate Evasion, Vengeance, Dash are working differently according to the type of armors wearing to solve the overpowered issues like mage with 6k p.def in robes on UD.
Mutant
is a difinition the players of dragon-community came up with for characters which made a cross-race subclass. The rules and basics are the same as those of the normal DN subclass system. Let's start with an "how-to-make-a-mutant" guide:
- Decide what professions your mutant has to contain (for example: SK/NE).
- Start by creating a new character.
- Choose a race which has one of both professions as a possibility (SK/NE: human or dark elf).
- Raise your character to level 75 (it's better not to take the same profession as the one you chose for your mutant, if you do take the same profession make sure not to start the 3rd class quest or you won't be able to redo it once you got your retail profession DN subclassed).
- Finish the retail subclass quest and choose the profession which is originally not available for your own race (for example: BD --> NE or TH --> SK).
- Level your retail profession to at least level 76.
- Finish the Dragon Network Subclass (as discribed above) quest while being on your retail profession.
- Return to Sir Eric Rodemai and choose your the profession of your original race you want to add to your retail profession (for example: SK (retail) --> NE).
- Congratz, you made yourself a mutant.
CAUTION Do not forget that there are certain restrictions to retail subclassing. These restrictions can be found on the following link. Available Classes Click a class icon and you can see the available classes lighted, unavailable classes darkened. For example, in order to make an OL/xx, you need to start as an orc and add Overlord as DN subclass to your retail subclass since any class can't choose Overlord as retail subclass.
